Introducing HoneyBun

In loving memory of our dearest Chihuahua Chico (Cheeky). We love and miss you Cheeky, you brought us years of joy and happiness. We will always think and hold you close to our hearts. Until we meet in heaven dear friend.
Cheeky was very good with the new puppies Cleo, a Shar-Pei mix my wife took in. Unbeknownst to us she was pregnant, and had seven puppies on Super Bowl Sunday. We were able to find homes through friends, co-workers, and a shelter, for them all except one. We kept the one puppy for the mothers sake and named her Cinnabun (like the cinnamon roll). We were also given another Chihuahua who we named Guapo (means handsome, or beautiful in Spanish). The link below will take you to some pictures of our new dogs, plus one of the originals (Daisy), from when we bought our home.

It's been a year since Cheeky passed away and I still think about him from time, to time. We still miss him terribly and I always wonder if when, and if I'll see him in the afterlife. I am placing some movies of Cheeky on this page as of today so that we may visit him whenever and wherever we want. I have been taking care not to spoil or pamper our new Chihuahua, Guapo, and to try and treat all the dogs the same, in hopes that there will be no jealousy or attitudes amongst them.
I have also created a page on the Pet Memorial and Tribute Pages.

Another year passed and we have a new addition to the family, Trixie Bell, she is a Chug (Chihuahua Pug Hybrid). Our neighbor's son had found her lost in our park area. They didn't know what to do with her so they asked us if we wanted her.  My wife and I feel sad whenever we see strays around especially where she works so I mentioned to her that if she ever wanted I suppose we could take another in, for a total of five now. Daisy the Weiner dog, Cleo the Rottweiler/Shar Pei, Cinnabun the Shar Pei mix, Guapo the Chihuahua, and of course Trixie Bell the Chug (Chihuahua Pug Hybrid).

Our dear cat Antonio who we always called "The Baby", I can't remember why we started calling him that but it just stuck to him. Antonio was not eating as he usually did for a short time, he was also getting thinner and we weren't sure why. We started feeding him by himself and he appeared to be gaining weight but shortly thereafter he started becoming lethargic and thin again. One morning we awoke and found him convulsing slightly so we took him to the veterinarian and were told he had a undetermined neurological condition which he would not recover from and would have to be put to sleep. So we decided that the best course of action to alleviate his suffering would be to humanely euthanize or dear Antonio, or as we called him "The Baby". Here are some pictures of him and the card along with his paw prints the Doctors and Staff from the First Regional Animal Hospital sent us. We love you Antonio and will never forget you.

So another year gone by and of course I still miss Cheeky very much. I can still remember his little feet, and nails clicking on the Pergo flooring in the closet. I did some yard work yesterday and saw Cheeky's memorial marker and took a picture of it. If you ever need a pet memorial I recommend Adirondack Stone Works. I do still wonder if I will ever see him again in heaven, obviously, what God has prepared for us is wonderful beyond comprehension. Therefore, love your pets as much as you can while they are here. Those of us who go to heaven will later understand that everything worked out perfectly regarding our pets. In the mean time, it feels as though some days I cannot forgive myself for his passing. If only I could have seen  what was coming, but I know it was not possible. I can now only take care of the pets I have and realize that for some reason God chose to take Cheeky when he did. The pain and memories are sometimes unbearable for me, I wake up in tears sometimes if I think of Cheeky before I go sleep, having some dream about him and then only to wake to reality. I remember all the pets we have had that passed away, Elvis, Popeye, the two cockatiels Cuckoo, and Lencha, and Antonio. PetLovers.Com is a forum for pet lovers that provide support for pet loss/grieving, and just to talk about pets. I posted a couple of pictures of Antonio and his look a like twin Peeky. I also have a picture of our parrot that we inherited from my mother who passed away this year also. We have never named him but my mother used to call him Coto. They were all our special babies that died in what will always seem before their time.

Our beloved cat Jones died tonight. She was found by Sue, in our living room under the coffee table. There were no signs of trauma, such as blood, or broken bones. Although none of our pets can get out of our yard, Jones was the only pet to find a way out. Once awhile back Jones jumped on our garbage cans and found her way into our neighbors garage. Luckily the same day we discovered her missing, I called both neighbors to ask them if they had seen her, which they had not at that time. On the third day of her disappearance, one of our neighbors called us and asked if we were still looking for a cat. When we retrieved Jones she was very thin and probably without food for 4 days, but she came back to health quickly, and stayed healthy for years to come, we also moved the garbage cans so that no other cat could possibly jump over the wall again. Jones was one of a few of our cats that enjoyed venturing outside via the doggy door. She would be out there at all times but we were never worried since we new she could not jump over the six foot walls around the yard. Me and my wife are at a loss as to how she died, she was only 7 years old, the youngest of our cats, the oldest being 17, and still quite healthy! The only plausible explanation we could come up with is that she was stung by a scorpion, or some other bug but the common belief among both cat and scorpion professionals is that cats are not immune to scorpion venom. So for now I have buried Jones in our backyard and ordered a pet memorial stone, as I did with Cheeky our Chihuahua. As far as I know the most common reason for cats to die suddenly is heart disease, and that is not something that we could have prevented or recognized. We only hope she passed peacefully in her sleep. I have dedicated a page to Jones and the good times she had with our other pets. I just received Jones pet memorial stone for her burial site in our back yard. If you need a memorial for your pets, here is their contact information:

I've thought many times of Cheeky, and wondered if I will see him in the afterlife. Sometimes I think of him at night and it's too painful to remember at times... I’m sure some people can't understand, and others can, that I still miss him. Although I don't think of him every single day, I never completely forget him. I remember his little feet and the way his toenails would click on the floor, Cheeky I miss you so much, I will always remember you. I know on my death bed I will have one happy thought of Cheeky and the hope that I will see him once again. In Cheeky's memory we have always tried to keep giving and donating our time to all the animal rescue organizations, and pet adoption groups. My wife Susan currently walks dogs on Saturdays from the Paw Placement: A Helping Hand for Pets is a 501(c)(3), no-kill organization. We also have fostered several dogs that have since been adopted out to loving homes. The latest of which we couldn't resist from keeping ourselves and I introduce her now, her name is Honeybun!

Here's a  page of our other pets, dogs, cats, and a parrot.
